Bonk-em
size 4k
(Formerly known as Whack-em)
This is an arcade type game I wrote for the PalmPilot (the first thing
I ever wrote for the pilot). It is a whack-the-mole type game. The game
is very simple - tap on a picture that changes position. The more correct
taps, the faster the picture moves. The game keeps tabs on the number of
hits, misses (tapped but didn't hit the picture) and timeouts (didn't even
try to tap the picture).
| Version History
(0.8) 7/Jan/1998
Major improvements :
Larger graphics.
Easier to see when you hit/missed.
Slightly different sounds.
Sound on/off feature.
New button.
About button.
Game over (30 misses or timeouts).
(0.5) 1/Jan/1998
First public beta. The game is missing some obviously wanted features.
I just wanted to get something "out the door" to get some user feedback.
Seems stable. Has no known bugs as of release date.
(0.1-0.4) 25-31/Dec/1997
Internal versions. Learning to program for the Pilot. A few friends
at work tried it out. |

Credits:
I would like to thank the people that wrote the tools (pilot GCC, pilrc,
pilot app templates, etc.) and the people who shared their source code.
Much of my source code is learned from Attax, Digi-guppie, Fret-board,
Wheel-of-Fortune and Rolling Cubes. The authors of these programs have
inspired me to make the sources of Bonk-em publicly available (as soon
as I clean them up a bit, and add remarks).
