Stuff I've done
Here's some of the stuff I've done that's in English (most of it is in Hebrew).
The links here are in chronological order.
StationPlay - The
PlayStation Search Engine
May 1999
This site started out as a perl script I wrote for my own needs. The script checked
various PlayStation sites for the latest information and sent me updates via email. The project
got bigger and bigger so I decided to make a web site out if it. I've incorporated much of what
I have learned into the site.
Ophir's
PalmPilot Stuff.
Jan 1998
Here are a couple of games I wrote for the PalmPilot. Hopefully more to come soon.
Israel
LaserDisc Site.
Nov 1997
This is a site I made durring my free time. It
uses some of the database and javascript stuff I've written. Almost no graphics
at all on the site (at the moment). It's amazing what you can do with just
colored text and tables.
17/Jan/2000 Update:
All the database stuff does not work because of the recent change of servers.
I'm leaving it online (the static pages) just for it's sentimental value :)
IMHO
May 1996
In My Humble Opinion. This was a "weekly" column I started a while
back. It was my first (and last) attempt at writing a newspaper type column.
A good learning experience. Warning - a lot of the links from these
pages no longer work.
NetVision
Personal Homepage Maker.
Dec 1995
Another one of my early creations. Pure perl. This allows some of NetVision's
customers to have their own personal homepage (a la - geocities or tripod).
Very Very simplistic. No file uploads (read - no on-site images). Once
geocities became popular I stopped development on it. You can try it out
with username test and password test.
NetVision
Classified Ads
Nov 1995
This stared out as a guest-book type application where all new
ads would simply be inserted to a text file (newest ad at the top). Then
when I stared playing around with SQL, I thought this would be a good place
to start. At the moment it has the following features :
-
The whole thing is totally SQL based.
-
It uses cookies to tell you what ads are new since your last visit.
-
The user gets an email after he/she enters a new ad reminding them of their
ad number and the URL to delete ads.
-
Users can delete their own ads at any time.
-
All ads are deleted automatically after 14 days.
-
It has an administrators interface to delete unwanted ads.
-
It even sends me (and only me) email when any new ad is placed.
-
Only NetVision customers can enter ads - based on IP checking.
-
Supports main and sub-categories.
-
Users cannot enter exact duplicate ads.
-
Users cannot use the "back" button on the browser to re-enter an ad.
Check it out ! (btw, the graphics are not mine).
12/Jan/2000 Update: This service is no longer online.
NetVision changed to a different classifieds ads system and the link no longer works.
Tivon
Plastics LTD.
Oct 1995
This was the fist web site I got paid for making (outside of my work at NetVision).
Very simple one page site (read: low budget). The page is a conversion of their brochure
to a web page.
More stuff to come.
I have a lot of graphic related stuff somewhere on my hard disk at
home. I used to do some computer graphics stuff. One of these days I'll
put it all on my site.
